501 CARROLL STREET IS A NEW 35,000 SF COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT WITHIN AN EXISTING 90,000 SF LIGHT INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX OF BUILDINGS IN THE GOWANUS SECTION OF BROOKLYN, NY. PDS PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ARCHITECTS AT PSA STUDIOS, WILL BRING A NEEDED, NEW COMMERCIAL AND LIGHT MANUFACTURING FACILITY TO THIS VIBRANT, EMERGING NEIGHBORHOOD. BUILDING ON PREVIOUS WORK UNDERTAKEN BY PSA ON THE SITE'S EXISTING BUILDING. THE NEW STRUCTURE WILL COMPLETE THE QUADRANT OF LIGHT MANUFACTURING FACILITIES REMINISCENT OF EARLY MODERNIST INDUSTRIAL COURTYARD COMPLEXES. THE NEW NINE-STORY ADDITION WILL RISE ABOVE THE EXISTING NEIGHBORHOOD TOPOGRAPHY TO OFFER STUNNING VIEWS OF THE SURROUNDING BOROUGHS AND MANHATTAN, WHILE SHARING THE BENEFITS AND SYNERGIES OF BEING A PART OF A LARGER MIX OF TENANTS AND SERVICES.

THE PROJECT, SCHEDULED FOR CONSTRUCTION IN 2016, WILL PROVIDE LOFT-LIKE COMMERCIAL RENTAL UNITS WITH INDUSTRIAL SCALE CEILING HEIGHTS AND GLAZING SYSTEMS. THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE UNDERGROUND PARKING FACILITIES AS WELL AS LOADING BERTHS. HIGH-TECH AND GREEN BUILDING SYSTEMS WILL SUPPORT THE UNIQUE TENANT MIXTURE OF CREATIVE, INNOVATIVE SMALL-SCALE, BOUTIQUE MANUFACTURING THAT IS TYPICAL OF PDS PROJECTS.
